This place is delicious.  You can choose your sauce based on level of heat (spiciness).  Crust can be gluten free, hand tossed, or thin.  I really like the hand tossed, the crust is garlic.  They also have domestic beers for $1.50 during happy hour.  YES!  That's right, $1.50.  I think the pitchers are also only $5.  The bar is full light fixtures made by local artists and the door is a work of art as well.

I also like the fries and the bone-in wings.  Some of the best wings, tender and juicy, but they're a little pricy.

The place is kind of hard to see from the street.  But there is parking in the back.

SO... this was my first time at Hounddog's and we were having a great time with our party... UNTIL we went to the bar and encountered probably the most condescending, snarky human being I've ever met. We approached the bar and politely asked if it was possible to get a certain mixed drink. Instead of saying "I don't know how to make that, or we don't have the ingredients but we do have blah blah blah" like most bars.... He decided the appropriate response would be to snap "No. This isn't campus" and immediately walk away leaving us standing there with our money in hand. That is 100% not the way to treat a customer. We never did get that drink, or any other as we were completely ignored.

If you are the owner, and reading this, I don't know if he was having a crappy day but thats not an excuse. He embarrassed us in front of other people sitting at the bar and we were agitated enough that it ruined our evening.  This occurred on Tuesday, October 8.

And For the record...Your description literally boasts that you are near OSU campus so I wouldn't bite the hand that feeds you. Or mock it. If I was actually within two decades of attending OSU I'd of be even MORE offended. He was THE WORST bartender I've ever met and I will literally never come back to the restaurant again BECAUSE OF HIM.

I will say, up till that point we were having a nice time and it was a cool place. The wait staff was very nice.

I'm so glad I finally tried this Columbus staple!

After almost two years of hearing many others rave about this place, I finally came in to see what all the hype was about.

It was close to 5:30 when we got here on a Monday. There's a ton of parking out back.

We walked in and it was mostly empty. It was still early for dinner. The place started getting busier closer to 6.

It's a dark space. With mostly wood features, it reminded me of one of those hole-in-the-wall taverns. It's dimly lit but has a slightly old school feel about it. There's strung up lights up by the ceiling which gave the place a modern touch.

The windows provide some natural light, but whenever a bus or huge truck passed by, it made the place dark for about a second and a half.

The space is large though! There are two rooms to choose to sit in!

We went up to the counter and the guy told us we could choose anywhere to sit. We got menus immediately and our waters.

The guy recommended the Meat Lovers with the Joe's crust (garlic butter). We got original sauce just to stay safe since it was our first time there.

I didn't feel like we waited all that long for the pizza. The staff must work quick back there!

It was a 14" that the three of us couldn't finish. We each had two slices and were stuffed! The pizza had bacon, ham, sausage, salami, pepperoni. Pack on that protein! And with both provolone and mozzarella, it was like a party in your mouth!

It was flavorful and the crust had the most perfect crunch!

    Our server was great!

So glad I got to try this place out. I'd come again!

I ordered pizza from here for delivery on a Saturday night it got to me in less than 45 min! Amazing service and the pizza was really good. The delivery guy accidentally gave me the wrong salad and I called him and in less than 10 min he brought the right one. Everyone was really nice and super fast!!

Average to above average pizza, but not close to really good or excellent pizza.  I visited Hounddog on a Friday afternoon and ordered a 12" Hounddog crust with pepperoni and spiced Italian.

The crust was thin, unleavened cracker-like. It had a soft crunch and only folded with pressure.  The thin crust let's the sauce, cheese and toppings shine. But if I were to judged the crust I would just say it is average--It didn't taste any different than the typical, commercial pizza place.

The pizza I ordered came with the original sauce. It was sweet and savory--really enjoyed it.  Spicy Italian sausage was flavorful and spicy.  The pepperoni was average.  The cheese was firm, stringy, and soft.  Cheese flavor was average to above average.

The atmosphere is what drew me to Hounddog, and the reviews numbered over a thousand on google.  I'm guessing the reviews are for something more than just a pizza. Hounddog's atmosphere is college bar-like.  The tables look like they came from Goodwill.  That's not a knock, but a compliment.  They have a unique style that fits the rest of the interior.

Overall, I think I can get a better pizza for the same price at another location.
